About The Storm
The Windy City Storm applies a holistic approach to growth on, and off, the ice. We aim to provide every athlete A CLEAR PATH TO DEVELOPMENT.
We believe the journey through youth hockey is the platform for junior, college and pro aspirations. Players that rise to this level often possess fundamentally strong skill sets, hockey instincts and "IQ", as well as the traits of a great teammate and person. With the Windy City Storm, the time to start teaching all of these qualities is NOW.
In terms of development, we have one significant guideline: What works for one player may not work for another.
Every player is different, and with a hands-on, tailored approach, it is the mission of our staff to help MAXIMIZE potential as teams, players, and people.
This goes beyond on-ice performance. We aim to create well rounded players/people through leadership development, teaching accountability, daily preparation and routine techniques, nutrition and sleep education, as well as what it takes to be a great team/teammate.
When someone enters our program, they receive a full service experience to maximize their potential.
STORM COACHING STAFF
We have a group of coaches with diverse experience at all levels of the game. Former pro, ncaa, and junior coaches, as well as players with college and professional experience, bring a wealth of knowledge that puts all of our players in the best place to succeed and navigate through the journey.
The majority of our coaches are full-time and are dedicated to the growth of each individual player.
ON-ICE SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Our full-time skill development team lead by Al Raymond is dedicated to developing functional skill that applies to all game situations. Every player has individual skill development plans backed by video, and proven instruction methods. We believe going through our skill development process will ready all of our athletes for any situation.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
Every student athlete receives a detailed and personalized off-ice training program. Dedicated to maximizing speed, strength, quickness, explosiveness, and competitiveness of our athletes.
Each player's growth throughout our program is tracked and communicated using state-of-the-art technology and equipment.
ORBIT ICE ARENA
The Orbit Ice arena is owned and operated by the Windy City Storm organization, allowing unprecedented access to skill development and ice time.
All of our athletes have access to our brand new player lounge and state-of-the-art off-ice training facility (904-908 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL).
